My father in-law makes some bomb baked potato soup in the crock pot. Will have to get his recipe though.

One I do is Salsa Chicken

Take 3-4 boneless chicken breasts, one jar of your choice of chunky salsa. I usually use Pace.
Put crockpot on low, cook while at work.
Shred chicken with forks like a pulled pork.
Serve with tortillas and you can make tacos or burritos

Boston butt or other 'lesser grade' cut of roast. Whatever is on sale. Several potatoes of choice, peeled and quartered (or smaller if they are big un's) One sweet onion, baseball size, sliced in rings then cut in half, several carrots, peeled, cut to 3" or so lengths.

I like to coat the roast with black pepper and sea salt (to your taste). Put ingredients in pot. Add some water, apple juice and a shot or two of wostershire (which will all run to the bottom) then cover the top with a can of cream of mushroom soup, undiluted. Makes a hardy pot roast dinner. Serve with a side of mayonaise salad (lettuce, tomato, a bit of onion and mayo mixed) and some horseradish cream for those who indulge.

I also like to cook apples. Granny Smiths, peeled, cored, sliced. Layer in crockpot, cover layers with softened butter and brown sugar.

Budget cuts of pork work nice too. Season the meat with your rub of choice, add a bottle of your fav BBQ sauce (homemade is fine, or Sweet Baby Ray's Chipolte) and about 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar. When done, easily use two forks to shred the meat to use for sammies, tacos, burger topping, etc.

You can sometimes save the juices/sauce and toss in another pork roast to prep up to shred and freeze.

Literally just started some beef short ribs in the crock, Asian style.

    Put some:
    Soy sauce
    Brown sugar
    Rice wine vinager
    Garlic
    Ginger
    5 spice
    Crushed red pepper

In the crock on low for like 8 hours. It's the only way I'll make short ribs. They're so freaking good!

I bought what I thought was a crock pot at the local 2nd hand store when I moved into my current place, all stoked to learn to cook something delicious and moderately healthy at home for a change. Learned after 8 hours of trying to slow cook a roast that what I had actually bought was a large rice cooker, not a crock pot. Fail.

It actually worked pretty well, just took longer lol.

Spaghetti squash in the slow cooker is tasty.

    1) Cut a spaghetti squash in half or quarters throw it into the crock pot,
    2) make some meat balls out of a pound of pork or beef and toss those in
    3) pour a bottle of sauce on it and cook it all day.

at the end of the day scrape the meat* out of the shell. mix it all up and eat for days

I've done this one and it's good.

My mom used the crockpot a lot when I was growing up. I usually make soup or stew in it.
