Well, that aint the only thing that is backwards on my Tacoma. If you look at my avatar which is my license plate, write the letters and number on a piece of paper and hold it up to a mirror.

I like that. Only works if NY requires plates on the front. Took me a second without putting it up to a mirror. 2 HIT, why would he want anybody to hit his truck. Ohhhh. crap.

Okay I was going to go to the dealer to see what you all are talking about, but then I got lazy.
So I just want to get this clear.

    What is back wards?

Answer 1:The detents? So 2:00 position is high wiper and 4:00 is intermittent. And if so, where is off? All the way up, so you have to move the lever past high and low to get to intermittent?
    (This would piss me off)

Answer 2: The intermittent speed selection rotation collar?
(This I would not even notice between the two)

Uh, you have to hold it up to a mirror, it does not spell 2 hit, lol. If I was in back of you, and you looked in your rear view mirror, what does it spell?

NY has plates front and back.

I would assume so... Buy a set from Autozone, try them for a few days, and if they don't work take them back! :D Seems like Autozone has a decent return policy.

After doing the intermittent wiper mod on my 09 reg cab, and a few other mods, I needed to do something that to my knowledge, hasnt been done before. In other words, I was freeking bored again, and tired of watching idiot politicians playing with our money on the news channels.

Went out and purchased a set of Piaa 1000 driving lights with no clue as to where I was going to put this on the Tacoma. I didnt want to buy a brush guard, or bull bar just for the purpose of holding those lights.

After staring at the front of the truck for awhile I came up with this idea of putting them into the bumper instead of on it. Using the disassembled light as a template, I cut two oval holed into the front. My initial cut was smaller than the actual opening that I needed. Placed the back half of the light housing into the back part of the bumper, attached it using their supplied 3M type adhesive pad to the mounting plate and placed that on the top inner bumper. Using that as a guide, I dremeled the opening larger to accept the front lens. I then enlarged that by 3/8ths more for adjustment of lights and to add a trim strip around the opening. I then used satin black paint over the chrome housing of the Piaa. Once that was done, and wired up to the dash, I decided not to use the PIAA suppled switch as I did not like the way it mounted to the dash. I purchased two fog light switches, two connectors for the switches and 8 terminals for those connectors. I used two of the openings that had blanks on the left side of the dash board. The other switch powers the fog lights in the existing openings of the front bumper. Total cost of the piaa drivng lights and the switches were under 200.00 Approximately 5 hours were spent doing this mod, mainly because of a problem with one of the PIAA's being defective. I used the rubber trim that you find on the fender flares to finish off the opening that I cut into the bumper to give it a more finished look.
In the third pic, just below the piaa, is my front cam, which helps me park the truck in the garage, its kinda tight in there now. Actually, my depth perception sucks now, lol.

    Tiger,
Thanks for the links. Do you have any recommendations for souping up my 03, 3.4? I want to put a new intake and exhaust, possibly headers. I also want to enhance the motor, maybe a hypertech programmer? It's a daily driver and I just want some better daily performance and mileage.
    Thanks!
    Mike

I'm not an exhaust/intake guy so take this with a grain of salt! The only real thing I can think of to boost power would be a supercharger (either TRD or URD). You can do intakes at $100-$400 and exhaust, but they don't really add all that much. Well, to me adding 1-5HP *if* that with a $400 intake is a waste of money, but that's me. I went with an AFE Pro Dry drop in to eliminate buying new filters. I just happened to get a little more throttle response and 1-2mpg bump in the process.

There really are no programmers for our trucks. There's that performance chip you see on eBay all the time that's just a resistor, and that's it other than the ECU reprogramming where you send the unit off to them. That's said to be a load of crap too. About the only "programmer" that'll work is URD's MAF calibrator and even that only kicks in above 3,000RPM when it can actually adjust the AFR. Useful if you have a SC and/or hang out about 3k RPM all the time. Practically useless if you don't.
