I made it simple for y'all. In the first post there is a list of all trucks with links to posts of each truck:

It's been over 2 years since I started this list, so it's time to update info on my truck (see the first post). The truck is doing great and after it's been used a lot last year it's waiting for some TLC:
    - oil change (the last one was 15k miles ago :crapstorm: - I was so focused building my new house I did not realize how many miles I put on her during that year)
    - replacing lower radiator hose (preventive - the upper developed a bulge and pinhole last year, so I don't want this to happen to the lower one)
    - replacing spark plug wires (I temporary fixed these wires that got chewed up by some rodent - now it's time to replace them)
    - replace spark plugs (I think they are due for that)
    - valve clearance check (I'm sure it's overdue for that too - At the same time I will put a new valve cover gasket and those rubber washers)

Despite this negligence My truck does not complain - runs great, burns zero oil, gets 20mpg every time, never got me stranded and passes safety inspection every year.

Stupid marketing BS. Is it some kind of "back to the future"? All car manufacturers fall for it now. I reject it. If the build date is 1995 it is 1995 truck. If I remember correctly the "total sold" was the number of trucks built in 1995, not a "model name".

In any case all owners of Tacoma trucks with the sticker year 1995 are welcome here.

It is sometimes marketing psychology, but also sometimes government regulation makes it the best choice. I have seen government regulations that must be implemented by Fall timing, such as September. So, car makers must decide: implement at beginning of the year (maybe extra cost all year); plan to have model change in the Fall and start new regulation features from that point (save money); have same model year with different parts (confusing for repair parts). So, they delay the new feature and have model change before year end.

But, you are correct. Marketing factors are no doubt the #1 reason they do it.

It bit my ass twice with my wife's 2015 Nissan Versa note we bought brand new in mid year 2015. When we moved it to Poland I noticed, that the build date is some time winter 2014, so by the Polish regulation is was 2014 car. And for all imports from USA the "first service date" is always January 1st of the built year. This way I lost more than a year of "inspection free" use (New car don't need to have annual inspection for first 5 years from "first service date"). The second issue is with the insurance - all insurance companies see this car as January 1st, 2014 as the depreciation starting point. So if I bought is in brand new in December 2015 and ship is directly from the dealer's lot to Poland, it would be already 2 years old car. Absolutely stupid. Sorry for ranting.

I'm new to this forum, this is my 1995.5 tacoma regular cab 4x4 V6 5 speed manual with 540,000kms (337,000 miles) originally truck is from New Jersey and was imported in 08 by an old neighbor of mine and I just picked it up recently and have been making it look as close to new as I can. I put a 3 inch lift in and went to hell on the paint.

It's one of those anti corrosion zappers. Supposed to send pulsing waves of current across the vehicle to slow any oxidation of metal.

That's it? Only 84 Tacoma 1995 registered in USA and Canada (and Poland )? I'm quite sure there at least twice more restored in Mexico , but I have not seen any of them on that list. So guys, keep you 1995 truck running, it's going to be worth a fortune soon .
