I am planning on going to the Moab meet in May, but don't want to drag along a camper, with associated stuff.
This is a raised platform to go in the bed of your truck. It is 59" long, and 56" wide. The vertical supports are 9" tall. It is made from 3/4" ply, and cost less than $100 including hardware. The top is made in 4 pieces, the middle right one being hinged for access to the 48" long compartment underneath. The outer two sit on top of the fender wells, with minor shim work. The carpet is made from outdoor carpet I cut with a razor knife, and stapled down. The lights came from Sam's club, run on 6AA batteries, and have a common switch you can see on the right side of the bed, next to the tailgate. A BCLB would be a little longer, but could be thrown together in a couple of hours with a nail gun and a table saw. The whole thing is held down with carabiners to the bed loops I installed on the factory bed bolts, instructions are located elsewhere in this thread.
    PM with questions.

I have a 2006 TRD Sport 4X4, and the recommended tire for a TRD Sport/Off Roads is a 265 series tire, it is 32 inches tall. Without a lift, you have to be more careful about width, not height. If you have a leveling kit, 33X12.50 are possible, but you would have to remove the mud flaps and trim the fender flares, or the tires will rub when you turn the wheel or do any kind of articulation.

I'm having that same problem, I washed my truck yesterday and had the alarm go off three times. Did you eventually find a solution?

if you wash your car/truck in the winter there's a good chance the hood latch is all gunked up with garbage and the sensor is blocked up. Had a honda that did that all the time.

Look for a sensor or wires going to the latch area and wipe them off.

Been here on TW a while, but have been lurking and reading up more recently. I am a red seal technician and work for a Toyota dealer. I also own a 2010 TRD sport. It is currently 100% stock, and will be going through some changes soon. If anyone wants DIY threads, videos, or anything of the sorts. Let me know. I also have full access to all of Toyotas factory information. Pm me for any requests, questions, and I look forward to getting to know a lot of you.

I want to see the press/jig that removes the entire bearing (including inner race) when swapping a wheel bearing on a late model taco.

I will get pictures of the jig today for you. The rest of the process will be with regular press+blocks etc. Will explain later with pictures. If I get a wheel bearing come in, I will do a step by step.

    front wb or rear seals/bearing?

Hello all. On Friday (16th) I got my first Taco, it's a 2012 Sport, 4dr SB 4x4. I'm looking to see what I can do to make a great truck awesome! I've heard great things about the magnaflow and flowmaster exhausts, anyone know how banks does on their product for the Taco?
I'm also looking at air filters. I know K&N is a good choice but what is the best for the Taco?
I've read some on here that say the supercharger hasn't come out yet for the 2012s but does anyone know what the milage would be on a Taco with the supercharger?

    Thanks for the help guys!

Supercharger=gas mileage will suck. You don't buy a S/C for mileage. On a positive note, you shouldn't have any trouble getting where you want to go, quickly.

I lost about 1-2 MPG when I installed it. currently I get around 15-16 mixed city / highway, but I have a lead foot...If you're on it a lot, you'll drink the tank dry in 140 miles or less, but if you do a lot of towing, your mileage will actually go up quite a bit while towing since you dont need as much pedal... Of course like Darth Tater said, you dont buy it for mileage, you install it for the grin factor :D

TcBob, is there a mod to keep the head lights from coming on when 2011 Taco is locked via key remote?
I did the seat belt beep mod, that's a cool mod. Wife likes it to. No more beeping when out on the lease.
